Close your eyes and envision the bare feet stomping the hollow ground to the rhythm of the tunes that flow through the pines. Feel the hand drum vibrate through your soul like the beat of your own heart. Feel the warmth of the September sun hitting your skin as you’re surrounded by the chorus of nature and good vibrations. Open your eyes and you are in the heart of the Adirondacks at the Otis Mountain Get Down Festival. A festival that stays true to its core beliefs; Community, human interaction, music, experience and the great outdoors.
The festival has just released the latest video in their live series with an intimate performance
from City of the Sun from the last years festival. Check it out below and buy your tickets to this years festival here.
Panorama has released their full lineup for this summer’s festival! The three-day event takes place at Randalls Island Park from July 18th through the 30th. In case you’re keeping count, it’s only 199 days, 19 hours, 8 minutes, and 20 seconds away!
The headliners for the festival include Frank Ocean, Solange, Tame Impala, Alt-J, Nine Inch Nails and A Tribe Called Quest. Other artists include MGMT, Jagwar Ma, Glass Animals, Spoon, Tyler the Creator, Vince Staples, Angel Olsen and many, many more.
OH! And in case you were wondering, Nick Murphy is on the bill. It’s ok if you’re confused…it’s Chet Faker. The dude changed his name…back to his actual given name. I think Chet Faker sounds better but to each his own. Now you know!
You can purchase tickets January 13th at 10:00 AM EST HERE!
Is it me or are festivals releasing dates earlier than ever? As I am writing this, Mountain Jam is 199 days, 13 hours and 54 minutes away. They have not only released their dates but also artists, including headliners.
The first headliners of the 2017 Hunter Mountain Festival are no other than Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers,
and Steve Miller Band. I can almost hear “Mary Jane’s Last Dance” echoing off the Catskills right at this very moment. Other artists announced include The Strumbellas, Gary Clark Jr., Peter Frampton, The Revivalists, Elephant Revival, and River Whyless with more still to be announced.
After experiencing the family-esque vibes at Mountain Jam last year, I can’t see myself being anywhere else June 16-18, 2017. You can purchase your tickets here.
If you are looking for off-site camping, I stayed at the North-South Campground last year. Not much cell service in the woods there to get your taxi to the festival but what do you expect! Overall had a good, rainy and cost effective stay!
